You can make life easier

Post

Summer is short – Support the families who are caring for the most vulnerable youth in our community.

You can make life easier for foster children by supporting their foster parents.

Make respite possible this summer.  When one foster family temporarily cares for another family’s foster children, it gives the children’s original foster family a bit of a break — a respite.

When Is Respite Care Necessary?

Foster parents may need to get away for a bit for some much-needed restorative personal time, or maybe they have other obligations that take them away from home for a period of time. You and I can call a babysitter or drop the kids with their grandparents so they can grab a night out alone. This isn’t an option for foster parents, particularly for those who are fostering the most vulnerable children. We have a critical shortage of foster parents in our region so it’s very important to support our foster family’s success. Respite allows foster parents to take a break, which helps prevent burn out.

Your support TODAY helps us fund respite for over 50 foster parents.
