Lupe Grimaldi is a Project Manager within the Office of Equity at the California Department of Social Services where she proudly supports an initiative that serves the needs of immigrant youth and their caretakers. In 2004, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from CSUS with a degree in Ethnic Studies and a concentration in Chicano Studies. She has served California’s children, youth, and families within the child welfare sector and immigrant and refugee communities for over 30 years, both as a volunteer and an employee of various community-based organizations.

Lupe joined the board of SSYAF because she is passionate about the organization’s mission. She is excited to be a part of a team that works towards meeting the unmet needs of those who need our help the most. Having dedicated her life to social justice efforts and helping others, her goal is to advance equity and support on-going partnerships with those communities most affected by inequities.

Lupe was born in San Salvador, El Salvador and came to San Francisco in 1980. She is fluent in Spanish and has studied Italian for a few years. In her free time, Lupe enjoys spending time with her son and loved ones, attending music and art events, and traveling. Her hobbies include watching soccer, weekend excursions, and socializing with friends and family.
