From COA (Council on Accreditation)

“We are pleased to share that COA has instituted a mentoring program for new volunteers. The mission of this new program is to offer new volunteers guidance and support as they enter their first site visit experience.  We trained 16 new volunteers this past April, they were all placed on a Site Visit before the two-day face-to-face training was completed. The Site Visit Coordinators have paired them with mentors, who will assist them with the pre-site, on-site, and post-Site Visit process.
This program was started about a year ago with the invaluable support and drive of COA Volunteer, Rochelle Haimes.  The mentorship job description and goals were reviewed by a small team which provided feedback.

This small review team consisted of Commissioners, seasoned lead reviewers, as well as new lead reviewers and volunteers.  It was then piloted with two Site Visits earlier this year, which received rave reviews both from the new volunteers, as well as the mentors.”

Thank you April for your participation as a COA Volunteer mentor!
