These Life Books allow foster youth to record the history of
their childhood through creating a scrapbook. Each young person
would create pages showing how they came to be in foster care,
photos of their life with friends, family and valued people in
their life. Other pages will be created by those who love them,
adding photos and letters or notes praising and encouraging them
to succeed.

Studies indicate that families who have their basic needs met
such as food, clothing and shelter, are better able to focus on
recovery.
Stanford Youth Solutions frequently acts as an emergency
safety-net provider for our most disadvantaged families in our
mental and behavioral health and juvenile justice programs to
assist with groceries, shelter, and transportation.
Families are in dire need of support, as they face unemployment
or underemployment, and even homelessness.
At any one time, more than 200 youth and their families are
benefiting from Stanford Youth Solutions’s programs. Often,
families’ needs exceed the capacity of our community’s
safety-net.
Research shows that when families have their basic needs met,
they can better focus on healing.
