So…You Think You’re a Winemaker! (excluded from Best of Live drawing)

Gather friends or family together to bid on your very own barrel of wine! This experience valued at $15,000, produces 24 cases (288 bottles) of your very own unique blend of wine. Use your finished blend to gift to corporate colleagues, develop a family crest or a share a fun experience with friends.

The 2010 vintage from the Raffaele Garbarino – “Cinque Terre Vineyard” is in the barrel ready for blending. The estate vineyard comprises of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet France, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Tannat, and all or some of these varieties will become part of your final blend. The winner(s) meet with the winemaker at the winery on several occasions to blend, bottle and label your own boutique wine.

This process usually takes between 2 to 12 months after the winning bid depending on your blending taste and includes several wine tasting and blending trips to the winery to perfect your custom blend.

Be a Chef for a Day

Chef Patrick Mulvaney will provide a chef’s experience for you and your date while creating an amazing handcrafted American cuisine dinner for 6 of your friends at Mulvaney’s B&L. The lucky chef arrives early to help prep with Chef while your date enjoys a glass of wine watching you create the meal that will later be served to your guests.

As your guests arrive, they can watch your culinary skills while sipping drinks at the bar. Once the meal is beginning to take shape, you and your guests will be whisked away into a private dining area to be served your special creation.

Sean Minor will pair his award winning wines as the courses are served.

Étain 2008 is a stunning Cabernet Sauvignon which charmingly displays a perfect balance between power and elegance. You won’t find this wine anywhere as it is in limited production and not guaranteed to be made every year. Housed in wooden box with a tin man etched within a tin lid, they continue their Wizard of Oz theme. A cult collectors dream.

Premier chef Matt Woolston and award-winning winemaker, Stuart Spoto team up to provide an exclusive winemaker dinner for 10. Join both at Stuart’s Arden Oaks home winery where these local legends will host appetizers, a tour and tasting, and end the evening with a three-course meal exquisitely paired with Spoto wines.

Matt’s Supper Club began in 2002 and boasts a prix-fixe seven-course menu skillfully paired with wine as well as catering. Guests are delighted with artfully presented courses that combine fresh seasonal ingredients in unusual ways. The menu is often playful, but Matt is serious about food. He designs each course to highlight the essence of the ingredients, deftly blending flavors to achieve a perfectly balanced dish. Matt also owns Matteo’s Pizza & Bistro. His wife, Yvette, is his partner in both endeavors.

Stuart Spoto started as a home winemaker in his Arden Oaks neighborhood, turning the hobby into a home-based business in 2004. Spoto uses grapes from the Oakville appellation to craft his high-end wines-Spoto Wines. He is a member of both the Napa Valley Vintner’s Association and the Oakville Winegrowers Association. He is invited each year to provide his wines at the invitation-only Taste of Oakville, the most exclusive tastings in the domestic wine world.

The wine in a short period of time has become one of the most sought after and hardest to get Cabernets made in Napa today. The wine is as good as Napa gets, from a rocky vineyard on what is considered to be the new sweet spot in Napa, Pritchard Hill.

This wine is a definite collectible and is getting high scores by Parker: 2005 95 Points, 2006 96 Points, 2007 98 Points, 2008 96. The wine borders on perfection and sells past the $200 a bottle mark…IF you can find it. This is a must for lovers of Napa Cabernet of the absolute highest caliber.
